Antique Bronze Dông Son bracelet. Vietnam Dông Son culture (7th century BC – 2nd century AD).

Solid cast bronze featuring an array of animals including frogs and reptiles, and possibly a horse and elephant.

 

This bracelet features workmanship typical of the Dông Son culture and the period. It originated in the region of the Red, Ma and Ca Rivers in Vietnam.

Funerals played an important role in Dông Son culture. Objects and jewellery of this type were often buried with their owner.
