Round shield, Kuba people, vintage 1930's.

Once a part of a warrior’s garb, Kuba shields are hand-carved from solid pieces of hardwood, with a gripping handle cut into the rear side.

This shield features a typical patination of intersecting geometric lines and white pigment patina.

Measurements: diameter 42 cm, height approximately 6 cm
