Vintage Silver Afghan Turkoman Triangle Amulet
The origins of this pendant are a little hard to work out. The triangle shape is typical of Afghani protective amulets, while the workmanship and decoration, including the floral/animal motif on the back, indicate a Turkoman origin. The old coral tipped dangles complete with small "hands" are strongly protective in nature but may not be original to the piece.
High grade silver and natural red Mediterranean beads. This is a vintage pendant dating to the mid 20th century. It was collected by Bernard Heaphy, founder of Kashgar, in the 1980's out of Afghanistan.
